No.24 Kanaya. Sketch the 53 station in Tokaido.東海道五十三次を描いてみたい。第二十四、金谷宿。

This is the 24th station, Kanaya-Jyuku. My wife and I visited there after Kakegawa-Jyuku. First, we went to the Shin-Kanaya rail station because many tourist information center at a station has Jyuku information. To my surprise, we could see a steam locomotive. It sounded a whistle and rising smoke. We enjoyed sightseeing. we bought a lunch box and drunk a cup of coffee at the shop.

第二十四。金谷宿です。掛川宿から行きました。多くの宿の案内は駅の観光案内所にあるため、大井川に近い新金谷駅に向かいました。そこでは驚いたことにSLが煙をあげながら汽笛を鳴らしていました。向かいの売店でお弁当を買ったり、駅構内のカフェでコーヒーを飲んだり、しばしの観光を楽しみました。

And then, we walked at the old road for view historic sites and went up to the levee at the Oui-Gawa river. We could see the same view which Hiroshige could see the river. However, there was no water and a big blue iron bridge across the river.

そこから旧街道を歩き、途中史跡などを見ながら大井川の堤防に上がりました。そこに見えたのは広重が描いた風景がそのまま残っていました。ただ川の水が全く見えなかったのと、向こう側に水色の鉄橋がかかっていました。

 We sketched early and ate Inari-Sushi lunch box at the riverside. The weather was so fine and I felt so good and the big Inari-Sushi was very delicious.

河原で簡単なスケッチをして、駅前で買ったいなり寿司のお弁当を開けました。大きな五目いなりが三つ、美味しく頂きました。
