Tasks Pile Up, What's the Effective Way to Manage Time?

Well, actually there are really basic things you need to know about time management. The key to successful time management is how strong your motivation is in managing your time, so you can be more productive.
So how do we make our motivation strong? Now based on research, to create this strong motivation, we must at least master these three main skills.

Fundamental Skills of Time Management
The first skill is awareness, the second is arrangement, the third is adaptation. Well, what does that mean?

So, in this article, I will discuss one of the most important skills in terms of time management. That is how you can arrange your schedule well every day. Composing it is part of skill arrangement.

Arrangement Skill

Have you ever thought that you've tried to make a daily schedule, but why do you still miss a lot. Even though it's already scheduled, right? In the end it makes you ask "where is this wrong?".

Actually there are some specific and simple things that you can do that will make a big difference, what are they? The first solution you can do is you keep trying to make a schedule.

1. Create a More Specific Schedule

Maybe you've made a schedule, right? Well, but now try to write more specifically, in more detail. In what form? In the form of a checklist.

So this is the first thing you have to do, yes, you have to make a checklist. Try to write down what activities you want to do and when the deadline is.

For example, today you have a lecture schedule for three hours, then you do an assignment for two hours, and so on. You should arrange these in order according to priority.

2. Create a Small Box for the Checklist

Well, this is the second step. You make a small box next to each list, what is it for? To cross the checklist, if you have completed a task on a list, you have successfully completed it.

Usually, there is a sense of satisfaction and happiness when you skip the activities on the schedule. This can also make you more enthusiastic to complete other tasks.

3. Reward Yourself

Third, what you can do is give yourself a reward, when all the tasks on the list are successfully completed within the time limit.

You can use the remaining time for rest or for entertainment. For example, on that day you managed to finish your college assignment, you've been sweeping the house, and you've had a meeting with a client... according to the time limit you've set. Well, at night you can relax, watch your favorite series, hangout with friends or sleep early.

Those are simple tips for time management. Starting from arranging schedules, making checklists, to giving rewards. Speaking of checklists, here's an interesting sentence taken from the book 'The Checklist Manifesto', what is it?

“Making a checklist is a simple way of time management, it can help us to focus more on priority activities, be disciplined with the tasks we have, and can be a reminder for the next task” – Atul Gawande.
