Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival and No.7 Hiratsuka station in Tokaido

久しぶりの「東海道五十三次、広重と同じ風景が見たい」です。7月7日七夕の日、神奈川県平塚市で有名な七夕祭りがあり、朝から行ってきました。関東地方での七夕祭りでは最大規模だそうで、七夕飾りが数百本とかなり大掛かりで、すごい人出でした。午前中にスケッチをした時はなんとかベンチを確保し、描くことができましたが、昼になると人が多すぎてスケッチどころではありませんでした。ちなみにベンチに座りながらおきまりの焼きそばとビールをいただきましたが、その焼きそばはイカ墨で味付けされていて、真っ黒な焼きそばでしたが、すごく美味しかったです。真っ黒な焼きそばはなかなか絵にならなかったので描いてません。

July 7, 2019, Sunday, my wife and I had a wonderful experience. We went to see the Shounan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival. There were excellent several hundred of the Tanabata decorations and lots of people in spite of poor weather. We found the bench and sketched amazing decorations in the crowd. By the way, I bought a cup of beer and a fried noodle named Yakisoba. This yakisoba didn’t only season with Worcester sauce, but also with squid ink. It showed black but tasted good. I couldn’t draw that meal because I didn’t think it was beautiful which it looked just black lump.

ということで、旧東海道、平塚宿跡に向かいました。本陣、高札場、問屋場などはほとんど残っておらず、跡として解説板がありました。広重は京方見附から西を向いて描いたそうです。お椀を逆さにしたような高麗山、当時は縄手道と呼ばれるあぜ道だったようですが、今は当然、国道一号線の交差点です。朝からの雨も上がり、気持ちよく交差点に座って描いていました。時おり、サーフボードを自転車に乗せて交差点を渡るサーファーがいて、海がちかいんだぁとなんとなく思っていました。

After that, we headed to Hiratsuka-jyuku. It took about thirty minutes by foot. There were few historical buildings while there were some explanation boards. Hiroshige Utagawa painted a mountain and a narrow path. However, there is just a crossing of Japan National Route 1 now. I felt the breeze and drew it beside the intersection. I often saw surfers who rode a bicycle with a surfboard. I thought there was near the beach.
