According to Joy Home Remedies, slipping into these bad habits could leave us feeling fatigued, tired and drowsy during the day. They might seem like meaningless routines, but starting the day well is vital for maximising productivity.

If hitting the snooze button several times is part of your morning wake up routine, now is the time to stop. It might help you gradually wake up, but it can leave you feeling foggy and tired throughout the day.

"If you hit the snooze button you can start a sleep cycle you are not able to finish," the team told Mail Online. "As a result you feel even more tired. If you want to feel more energised, motivated, and more productive in general, then it's time to ditch your unhealthy morning routine and cultivate some good habit."

Other habits to slip out of include taking a hot shower, leaving the bed unmade and forgetting to stretch properly. Researchers also found that making your bed in the morning is linked to higher productivity during the day, claiming it can lead to the development of many more healthy habits.
